The Sun-Jupiter sextile give the day an optimistic tone, in contrast to some of the lunar aspects of the day. Early this morning the Moon squares Mars, a sign of possible contention. Later she’ll square Jupiter and Pluto, which could amplify emotions, especially around relationships and business. Overnight, Luna trines Mercury and squares Saturn, giving us the urge, but not necessarily the ease, to carry out our ideas. At 5:28 tomorrow morning, the Moon enters Scorpio, bringing the focus to the inner life.

We wake up with the Moon just trining Mars, both ready to get things done. But the Sun-Neptune conjunction argue for a slow start, especially as the Moon opposes it. This full Moon might reveal some things that have been long hidden, perhaps intentionally. Later in the day, Luna trines Jupiter and then Pluto, beginning the necessary grounding after so much dreaming. Just before midnight is the event we’ve all been waiting for: Mercury stations Direct. It will be a few days before it picks up speed, and it still has to make its way through Pisces again, so we’re Read more…

In the first part of the day, the pragmatic Virgo Moon will trine Venus and Uranus in earthy Taurus, while the Sun continues its conjunction with dreamy, fuzzy, Neptune. Venus will also conjoin Uranus exactly. It’s a great day for arts & crafts where detail is flexible and out-of-the-box thinking can predominate.

Saturday, March 7, 2020

The Moon continues today in showy Leo, without any major aspects until before dawn tomorrow when she’ll oppose Mercury (retro), lending drama to any ongoing confusion that might be in the air. Luckily, most of us on the east coast will be asleep. The Sun starts its exact conjunction with Neptune today, which may make career and ego-identity issues super fuzzy, unless you’re an artist. At 6:47am, Luna enters Virgo, taking an edge off the drama.

Friday, March 6, 2020

The Moon in dramatic Leo squares Venus in luxurious Taurus right out of the gate today, and then Luna will square flashym, independent Uranus by midday. It’s also Friday, Venus’s day, so take the opportunity to dress up and show off a bit. The rest of the day is as quiet as a Moon in Leo can get.

Magical Mansions

Most people who are generally familiar with astrology know something of the basics: planets, signs, houses, and maybe aspects. These are the building blocks of western astrology in almost any era, past or present. But once upon a time, astrology and magic (as well as alchemy) were seen as a package deal. Not necessarily in a big-deal kind of way, either. People were accustomed to seeing astrology in many aspects of daily life. The days of the week (Sun’s Day, Moon’s Day, Mars’ Day, Mercury’s Day, etc.). The rituals that filled the days and seasons. All around there was evidence Read more…

Last night’s dreaming continues until about midmorning as the Moon trines Neptune, but then starts to get more pragmatic as she opposes Jupiter in Capricorn. She’ll oppose the other Capricorn placements: Pluto this evening and Saturn overnight, bringing some intensity and serious grounding. At 4:27am, Luna enters Leo.

Mercury retrograde sextiles Venus in the last degree of Aries much of the day. It’s not a bad time to rekindle old friendships, but go slow. You might also dig out old art projects and work on them again. Later in the day, the Moon opposes Mars, both being very strong. Strong emotions might arise, but now might be a good time to deal with them, given their sign placements. Late tonight, Venus enters her favorite sign, Taurus where she’ll spend the month. She’s also no longer squaring the late Capricorn placements. It’s a good month for all things art, Read more…

Tuesday, March 3, 2020

Venus in Aries perfects her square to Saturn in Capricorn around noon today. Responsibilities and harsh reality force us to take a critical look at relationships and our sense of beauty and art. Saturn is definitely the stronger in this lineup, but try not to be too hard on yourself and your loved ones now. The Moon moves through much of Gemini without planetary contacts, but as she approaches the sextile to Venus tonight, we’re likely to be feeling the after-effects of the Venus-Saturn Square. There may be a softening of attitude after some self-critical thoughts. At 11:25pm, Luna slips Read more…
