Throughout the day, the Moon moves toward opposing Jupiter in Capricorn and trining Neptune in Pisces. These are exact between late afternoon and mid-evening. Beware pie in the sky dreams and desires that may seem within reach right now; or may seem to be the solutions to all your problems. Not all that glitters is gold. Then overnight the Moon will oppose Pluto, intensifying any feelings that we have about these dreams and desires.

Morning arrives with the Moon squaring Venus, so there may be a few road bumps dealing with our loved ones or finding creative inspiration. In mid-afternoon, Luna enters her home sign of Cancer, which would normally allow for a free flow of emotions, but she sextiles Uranus at the same time, and then trines Mercury, so this free-flow may be a deluge of weird that’s not very clear.

All day until tomorrow morning, Mercury sextiles Uranus, urging us to think in unique ways. Since Mercury is in Pisces, these ways may not be clear or logical, but they could be quite inventive. The Moon trines the Sun this morning, allowing the two Lights to work in harmony. Soon after, however, Luna squares Neptune, so any solar clarity might fade away in the fog. Tonight until just after midnight the Moon opposes Mars, creating some sparks and high energy that might be difficult to direct.

The only planetary aspect today is Venus in Pisces sextile to Saturn in Capricorn. These are two very dignified planets, and together they can work toward building something concrete in the sphere of relationship, art, music, peace, etc., especially with the Moon waxing and very bright right now. But they may take a little prodding, so don’t let it slip by without taking some action.

What’s Worse Than Mercury Retrograde?

Three times a year, for about a month, the collective astrological world freaks out. We’re about to do it again. Even the most casual followers of the planets and stars are familiar with the phenomenon of Mercury Retrograde. How often have you opened Facebook only to see a friend who’s having a bad day post “What the hell is going on? Is Mercury in Retrograde?!” As an aside, it’s NOT “Mercury IN Retrograde.” Despite finding that expression all over the place, even in a site named: If you are saying this, you’re kind of pulling a Bourgeois gentilhomme (Molière, Read more…

The half-Moon continues for the morning in Taurus without close aspects until she trines Pluto and Saturn, and sextiles Venus through the late afternoon into the evening. This could encourage semi-intense emotions about the past and responsibilities, but shouldn’t get in the way of accomplishing what you need to. The Moon will square Mercury just as both of them change signs: the Moon enters Gemini and Mercury enters Pisces all between 6:27-6:37am EST. If you are operative during those hours, communications are likely to be wonky, since Mercury is opposite one of its own signs (Virgo), and the square aspect Read more…

As the Moon separates from unsettling Uranus, she spends all day moving into a square with the Sun, at the same time trining Jupiter until mid evening. This is the first adjustment period since the New Moon, so look at what’s going on and prune whatever isn’t working. Jupiter will ease this a bit, since while in Capricorn he can help face responsibilities with poise. All today and into early tomorrow Venus sextiles Pluto, while overnight Luna sextiles Neptune. Powerful emotions about relationships and creativity could surface, but don’t trust them until the aspect is past, just to be sure Read more…

Eclipse-o-rama(ish) part 2

In the last post, we looked at the dubious idea of “Supermoons,” and then at the high number of eclipses that we’ll have in 2020. When Solar Eclipses are so dead-on, there’s a high likelihood that both Full Moons for each eclipse will also be eclipses. That is, at the Full Moon two weeks before the Solar Eclipse (New Moon), and at the other Full Moon two weeks after the Solar Eclipse, the Moon, Earth, and Sun will still be aligned enough to produce partial Lunar Eclipses. Twice. Which means four Lunar Eclipses in 2020. Actually, the eclipse that happens Read more…

The morning starts with the Moon leaving a square of Pluto and entering the square to Saturn, while at the same time sextiling Mercury. Communicate about and work on obligations this morning. You may be able to resolve lingering issues. At 7:27pm, Luna enters Taurus, her sign of exaltation, and overnight conjoins Uranus there, indicating potential emotional upsets where one expected stability.
