The Moon’s trine to Saturn late this morning can be a very grounding experience. Both in earth signs, both dignified. Focus on what’s real and what’s an obligation, and things should flow. At 2:20pm, Luna enters flighty, social, Gemini, where she squares the Pisces Mercury retrograde early this evening. Get your important stuff done early, since this can be a sign of all sorts of difficulties being clear and real.

An exciting day all around! Venus squares Pluto, promising intensity of feelings and in art, relationships, and love. Venus is in a fire sign, so this is likely to manifest in overt ways, often visually. Mercury sextiles Uranus also, urging independent thought and tempting you with its retrograde-style communications. Be warned. Specifically in the morning, the Moon crosses Uranus while sextiling Mercury, increasing these urges. Later in the day, Luna trines Mars, good for leaping hurdles or breaking down long-standing barriers, if you can. Finally she’ll sextile the Sun, easing energies a bit, while demonstrating her growing light this month.

Gardening by the Moon

Gardening according to Moon cycles, or Agricultural Astrology, is a very old and respected tradition. As early as the 1st-2nd century CE, the famous compiler of information (and possible astrologer) Claudius Ptolemy reported that Roman farmers planted by Moon cycle. In fact, gardening by the Moon is probably one of the earliest types of astrology. The Moon is very observable, and even when it’s cloudy, folks close to the Earth who watch the Moon regularly will know how she moves over the course of a few days, and what phase she’s in. But farmers can go even further than waxing Read more…

At midday Luna conjoins Venus and shortly thereafter squares Pluto. Intense feelings may surface, and while expressing them may be a good thing, remember that Mercury is still retrograde and the Moon is still pretty dark, so choose your words carefully and resist the urge to emotionally vomit on others. Similarly, don’t let them do that to you. Later today the Moon will square Saturn, which may frustrate whatever you said this morning, and point out errors or obligations you must attend to. At 2:29am on Friday, the Moon enters Taurus.

Luna comes to the sextile to Saturn this morning, pulling yesterday’s daydreams back to a bit of reality. She enters Aries at 1:47pm, and then later moves to an overnight square to Mars, carrying with her a potential for conflict, especially the kind where not everyone fights fair. The Sun conjoins Mercury this evening – the first conjunction during this Mercury retrograde cycle. This is one of the most challenging times for clarity. Go back to dreaming and making plans. Mercury also sextiles Mars, exact just before 1am tonight. Don’t be fooled by their call to action, unless it’s a Read more…

After a quiet-ish morning, the Moon conjoins Neptune and sextiles Jupiter early this afternoon. Dreaming is good, as is fantasizing about what you want. But with this configuration and a dark Moon, it’s best to hold onto your plans until a more appropriate time to put them into action. The Sun sextiles Mars tonight, urging you to action, but as stated above, all the signs say to go slow or wait a bit.

Luna has a busy morning, as she sextiles Uranus, conjoins the Sun (New Moon), and then sextiles Mars, all within a few hours. These transits all point toward potential action, but with many of the main events occurring in Pisces (Sun & Moon), in the same sign as the retrograde Mercury (which the Moon will meet up with this evening), this action may be behind the scenes or focused on relationship, art, or secret things. The Moon’s dark phase reinforces the unseen nature of things right now. Be careful if you need clarity now to double and triple check your Read more…

The Sun sextiles Uranus this morning, bringing with it an urge for liberation and individuality. Add to this the building Venus square to Jupiter (tomorrow), and relationships might experience a few hiccups or speed bumps. The Moon is fairly calm as it finishes its sojourn through intellectual Aquarius. She enters Pisces on Sunday morning at 1:37am.
