Astrological Almanac for Friday, August 6, 2021

(All times Eastern)
Today’s big transit is the Sun’s square to Uranus. This is a conflict aspect between two somewhat egocentric planets. The Sun is particularly strong in Leo, his home, and stubborn (it’s a fixed sign). Uranus is in Taurus, so also stubborn, but doesn’t really have a home he rules in the zodiac. So the day (and into tomorrow) may be full of ego conflicts. We may be stubborn about doing things our own way. We may be shaken up and find ourselves reversing direction, too. See the weekly context post for more. This is most likely to affect those with planets right in the middle of the fixed signs (Leo, Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius.
The first half of the day sees the Moon flowing with Neptune in Water signs. So for those whose charts this affects, you are undoubtedly going to experience a softer, gentler day (as long as the Sun-Uranus doesn’t also affect you directly). Tonight, Luna opposes Pluto, adding a bit to the overall tension of the day, and bringing a desire to fight for a cause. Just be sure it’s the right one.
At 3:31 am tomorrow, the Moon moves into Leo, so while today’s planetary aspects fade, there is still sure to be a general sense of drama through the weekend.
