Astrological Almanac for Monday, April 19, 2021

(All times Eastern)
Mercury (at 6:29 am) and the Sun (at 4:33 pm) both enter Taurus today, marking the middle month of northern Spring. The chaotic first-impulses of the Spring, which happen during the Cardinal sign Aries, start to slow down a bit and focus on stabilization. Taurus is a fixed Earth sign, so one of the most immovable symbols in the zodiac; this means that it’s a good time to dig our feet in (preferably into the Earth) and establish some solid roots. The weather becomes more comfortable (Taurus is ruled by Venus, who is currently in Taurus, too), and pleasant.
As Venus approaches a conjunction to Uranus in just a few days, we may experience what seems to feel like lingering chaos, so don’t get too settled just quite yet.
The Moon contacts outer planets today, flowing with Neptune, and then later opposing Pluto. The first lends itself toward idealism and creativity; the second dovetails with the changing season, but in a way that makes it feel difficult to let go of the past.
The first quarter Moon (Moon square Sun) is at 2:58 tomorrow morning, another sign that we need to let go of what’s not working right now.
