Astrological Almanac for Sunday, January 2, 2021
(All times Eastern)
The Moon, almost new, follows yesterday’s Sun in a trine to Uranus, reinforcing our sense of independence, and offers us the opportunity to make some changes to realign our lives to be more in line with where we have arrived at this point. Since the Moon is waning, it’s probably better if these changes are ones of letting go, rather than taking on new projects now. Wait a week or so until the new lunar cycle to begin big things.
The New Moon is at 1:33 pm today, in Capricorn. The chart for Washington, D.C. shows Taurus rising, with the New Moon/Sun in the 9th house of foreign people and places, spirituality, long distance travel. The Sun/Moon are very close to a trine to Uranus. This extends the theme of independence, while also tying in the 9th house meanings mentioned above. Maybe it’s a good time to begin learning a new language or investigating another culture, or even your own ancestors (since that 9th house Sun rules the 4th house of ancestors in this chart).
Overnight Luna flows nicely with Neptune and Venus (though she’s still quite close to Pluto), making for some good dreaming possibilities.
