The Sun and retrograde Mercury join up today in Scorpio. Normally when the Sun conjoins planets, it’s bad for the planet, as the Sun’s light drowns out the light of that planet. But tradition holds that within 17 minutes of arc from the center of the Sun (called “cazimi”) is a powerful time when the Sun supercharges that planet. This is the situation from about 11:30am until about 5pm EDT. So if you have communications or trades or sales to accomplish, this is likely the best time during this retrograde cycle to do this.
At 5:18pm Luna enters Pisces and will cooperate nicely with Mercury and the Sun this evening. As the evening goes on and cazimi and these aspects fade, we go back to the Sun “burning up” Mercury and Mercury acting like its old retrograde self.
