Astrological Almanac for Wednesday, January 19, 2021

(All times Eastern)
The planets are fairly quiet today. Before dawn tomorrow, the Moon connects with Mars to make this evening and night a higher-energy time. If you’re a night owl, take advantage of this. If you’re the kind who has trouble sleeping, tonight is a good time to do some extra pre-bed self-care.
At 9:39 tonight, the Sun enters Aquarius, marking the middle month of winter. It’s the most extreme cold in the north and heat in the south of the planet. Even though this is opposite the Sun’s sign Leo, and the cold is at its most extreme here, the light continues to grow. And though we have relatively the same amount of daylight as we had at Thanksgiving, the quality is different. See the weekly context post for more.
