Astrological Almanac for Wednesday, October 20, 2021

(All times Eastern)
The Full Moon is at 10:56 am today at 27 Aries. This means that Mars, the ruler of Aries, is the ruler of the lunation. One would generally expect some high energy and possible mayhem. But Mars is currently in Libra, his sign of exile (opposite Aries) where he attempts (sometimes more, sometimes less successfully) to to take on Venusian characteristics. Here he at least tries to be somewhat diplomatic. Also, the Sun is just a few degrees away from conjoining him (last week), and anything this close to the Sun is “combust,” that is, burned up and ineffectual. So the edge may be taken off this a bit. He (Mars) is in a challenging relationship to Pluto, so overall, there may be some uncomfortable things come to light from the past in the next few days.
At 3:58 pm, Luna drops comfortably into Taurus, her sign of exaltation. Here she can relax (at least for a half a day or so before she comes upon Uranus), and we can focus on our creature comforts and self care. Once she passes the conjunction to Uranus tomorrow evening, we’ll have another day or so of being able to chill a bit.
Over night and before dawn tomorrow could feel a bit isolating and even a bit depressing. If most things are going well, it won’t be bad, but if you lack balance, this could feel stressful. However, since it happens so late, most of us will likely be asleep.
