Uranus: The Tilted Planet

(All times Eastern)

Remember that these aspects (aside from entry into new signs) will be in effect a few days before and a few days after the exact dates listed here. So keep this in mind when reading the daily updates this week.

This week brings a lot of change and shifting, including the Sun’s transition into the last sign of the northern summer, marking the beginning of the end of the season.

The week begins with Mercury’s trine to Pluto, connecting powerful experiences with information and details. This is the kind of aspect that indicates people “switching sides” in battles and matters of loyalty, and previously secret information coming to light. The same night, the Sun moves from its home in Leo into Virgo, resetting the focus from flashy and magnanimous to detailed and precise. These two events, while important on their own, are likely to play off each other as well.

On Wednesday, Uranus turns retrograde in Taurus. While this is nothing out of the ordinary (outer planets spend up to half of each year retrograde), it is likely to have effects in reversing or upsetting all-things Taurus. So we may find that the supply chains that have been finally opening up again after the heaviest part of the pandemic experience reversals and delays once again. It’s also likely that in the next few months, food shortages occurr due to the war in Ukraine, since Ukraine and Russia provide much of the wheat in parts of Eastern Europe and Africa. The results of this year’s “harvest” are coming in.

On Thursday, Mercury leaves its favorite place and heads to Libra for a bit. But they will station there in early-mid September and return to Virgo for a bit, so if you have some pieces left unfinished that require their precision and focus, you’ll have one more crack at it at the end of September and beginning of October.

Next weekend, Venus squares Uranus and opposes Saturn, the two of which have been dancing back and forth all year in a square that never becomes exact (the exact squares were in 2021 this cycle). So there is likely to be tension around relationships, art, and aesthetics. For those who are just beginning a new school year, it might mean a bit of a rocky start to the social aspect of school.

The Sun also squares Mars next weekend, bringing a lot of energy, but also a lot of frustration. We may find ourselves facing obstacles, some of which might even seem intentional. It could be difficult to control energy overall, especially in professional settings.
