Astrological Context, Week of December 12, 2022
(All times Eastern)
Remember that these aspects (aside from entry into new signs) will be in effect a few days before and a few days after the exact dates listed here. So keep this in mind when reading the daily updates this week.
This week has only 3 planetary aspects (other than lunar ones), so it’s a bit quiet.
On Monday, the Sun sextiles Saturn, making it a good couple of days to plan and organize. The flow is with you as you take care of obligations and various commitments.
On Wednesday, the Sun squares Neptune. This is the aspect that will dominate the week, but it’s a bit of a weird one. Neptune is the anti-physical principle. It heralds fantasy and escapism, as well as a lack of clarity and even deception and untruth. With aspect, we may feel as if we’re spinning our wheels and going nowhere. It’s not at all a good time for professional promotion, so don’t even bother right now. In fact, it’s possible that the workplace won’t be very productive at all this week.
On the other hand, it’s an excellent time for art and music, so if you are a creator of that kind, this could be your week. If you can avoid focusing on too many details this week, or too much planning, then try to flow with this lack of focus and energy instead of fighting it.
On Saturday, Mercury trines Uranus. This is fantastic for original ideas and mental creativity. Communication is likely to be good now, and we may have more insight than usual. It’s a good time to be experimental and to work with modern technology, especially since Mercury will go retrograde just after the solstice, on December 29.
