Astrological Context, Week of July 3, 2023

(All times Eastern)

Remember that these aspects (aside from entry into new signs) will be in effect a few days before and a few days after the exact dates listed here. So keep this in mind when reading the daily updates this week.

This week is quiet with planetary activity. On Friday, Mercury sextiles Uranus, which should be excellent for generating brilliant ideas and being intellectually creative. This is especially so as Mercury emerges from the beams of the Sun at sunset; if you have a good view of the western horizon, you may be able to get a peek at the fastest planet in the next few weeks. The accompanying image is for mid-July at sundown. Below the horizon is visible here so you can see the Sun, having set, and Mercury becoming brighter. The will continue to move away from the Sun and become more visible in the evenings until late August, when they go retrograde and move back to conjoin the Sun in early September.

On Sunday, Mercury goes on to trine Neptune, translating the out-of-the-box ideas into pure creativity. It’s not the best time for words, but all other forms of communication and artistic expression should flow nicely in the second half of this week and the beginning of the next.
