Astrological Context, Week of June 12, 2023

(All times Eastern)

Remember that these aspects (aside from entry into new signs) will be in effect a few days before and a few days after the exact dates listed here. So keep this in mind when reading the daily updates this week.

June continues to be a little bit “quieter” than May for planetary aspects.

On Thursday, Mercury squares Saturn. We may find our way of thinking blocked or challenged now, and communication with others may be hard. A change of perspective may help here.

On Friday, Saturn turns retrograde. This is a once-a-year event that lasts a little longer than 4 months. Being an outer planet, the effects may seem subtle. But anything ruled by Saturn in charts is likely to slow down, get blocked or even reversed. Watch the parts of your chart where Capricorn and Aquarius rule, and to an extent, Libra. All Saturnian things will also be affected: old people, older pets, structures, rules, boundaries, pests, and so forth.

Also on Friday, Mercury sextiles Venus, offering a gentle way for communication and interaction with friends and lovers, as well as a chance to express our creativity outright.

On Sunday, the Sun squares Neptune, likely bringing a lack of clarity for a few days. It can be a very creative time, but one in which the way forward isn’t clear; or perhaps we’ve been on a path that seems to get hung up for a few days. Don’t worry, this will pass. But don’t miss the opportunity for the new perspective along the way.
