Astrological Context, Week of September 19, 2022

(All times Eastern)
Remember that these aspects (aside from entry into new signs) will be in effect a few days before and a few days after the exact dates listed here. So keep this in mind when reading the daily updates this week.
This week is much quieter for planetary aspects, but sees a big shift with a couple of planets changing signs.
Early Tuesday, Venus trines Uranus, which is the first aspect in a while that supports relationships rather than challenging them. It’s a good time to celebrate your independence as well as your connection within the relationship. It’s also nice for intellectual stimulation.
On Friday, retrograde Mercury conjoins the Sun. Until then, we continue to experience the effects of the retrograde pretty strongly, especially with Mercury so close to the Sun as to be “combust.” But from about midnight through 6am Friday, Mercury stands at the heart of the Sun, or “cazimi.” While this doesn’t erase all the challenges, it makes Mercury much more benefic than they have been. So if you have super important messages to send or purchases to make, that’s the time to do it.
A few hours later on Friday, Mercury retrogrades into Virgo (at 8:04am), giving us a chance to work on any unfinished Virgo business before they go direct again in a while. So it’s a good time to get together papers, do some editing, make a sales plan, etc.
Late Thursday, at 9:03pm, the Sun enters Libra, inaugurating the Fall season in the North. Libra is a cardinal sign, marking beginnings and a bit of chaos. So it will take a while to shake off summer for good and settle into the cool of autumn.
