Astrological Context, Week of August 5, 2024
(All times Eastern)
Remember that these aspects (aside from entry into new signs) will be in effect a few days before and a few days after the exact dates listed here. So keep this in mind when reading the daily updates this week.
We start the week with Mercury turning retrograde just after midnight on Monday morning. While this is in Virgo, much of their retrograde path is back in Leo; all of Mercury’s retrogrades this year are in fire signs, so they are likely to have us retracing our steps around actions that we have taken. The third week of the month is likely to be the most challenging, when Mercury also conjoins the Sun, and they both square Uranus, so watch for that coming up in future reports.
On Wednesday, the Sun sextiles Jupiter, and Mercury (Rx) conjoins Venus. Both of these should be fairly good for most social things, with the caveat, of course, that communications may be wonky, and relationships (Venus) might be overly picky or demanding now.
